Judging Results
Medal / Award
Judge 1 inky black purple, super saturated, super extracted, like bitter cocoa and ink, masking fruit and flesh
Judge 2 Very deep, dense colour, Sweet raisined fruit and a touch of sweet and sour pickle juice on the nose. Some sweet fruit, then some green hard tannins. Quite austere on palate.
Judge 3 inky, charry coffee nose, lacks acidity and drive. fruit ripe yet reedy, smothered by oak.
Associate Judge Ripe dry fruits and good lick of oak, but fine, spicy oak. Palate is powerful, meaty, raw, intense tannins, fruit could carry a bit more. Feels like a warm climate variety that holds tannin and acid... some finishes w meatiness and oak.
