milk chocolate and blood plum , textural and layered palate , a robust wine expressing the variety |
Concentrated color. First note is fruits macerated in spirits (plum/prune/cherry). Sweet baking spices and violet extract. Overly lush, pushing the wine too much with concentrated fruits, firm tannins (oak and grape) burnt rubber on the finish |
Oak at the fore aromatically which blankets the fruit a bit. Blackberry, black plum and a dusty oak nuance. Vibrant fruit soaks up the oak on the palate, blackberry, blueberry, bramble. Quite full in body with firm sinewy tannins and a wash of acid bringing freshness to the finish. |
Lifted new oak, cherry ripe, chocolate, solid fruit weight and dry finish |
