Drying out....what fruit charm may have once been there has fled, leaving some awkward oak behind
River mud and jammy fruit combine to create a behemoth of a wine. High toned fruit, oak and tannin push the variety to the limit. Winemaking the star over varietal typicity here. Almost feels more like a red wine than a Montepulciano.
M ruby, some age showing on hue. Onset of tertiary devt. Leathery. Palate lacking freshness. Firm dry finish
A little tired, interesting fruit profile on nose and pal. Desiccated fruit along with licorice and confectionary. Lacks a bit of freshenss and pal slightly disjointed.
