Heavy on the oak. Bitter edge from it. Lacks integration and balance. |
Very dark garnet in the glass, this wine smells of very jammy black cherry and black plum. IN the mouth, the wine is intense with rich black cherry and black plum flavors shot through with black tea and dried flowers. The tannins are supple and quite pretty, whilst the acidity is juicy and bright. A powerhouse of a wine but one that ultimately remains quite poised. There's definitely oak here, with tannins that dry the mouth a bit, but the wood is very well integrated for the most part. |
Sweet candied raspberry crème biscuit over choc peppermint. Sour lined but Campari notes none the less |
tobacco leaf, cedar, olive, overipe black fruit, good fruit intensity, just looking a bit tired. |
