Judging Results
Medal / Award Bronze
Judge 1 full bodied, broader style, some phenolics, with fresh, acute acid line, hint sour.b.meally, tropical, rich palate, blocky, slight furry phenolics.c.lots of flavour, stonefruit, tangelo, waxy lemon, lovely toasty note, ad acid freshness.
Judge 2 Waxy, honeyed characters throughout, though refinement of texture and complexity in younger wine. Age variation?
Judge 3 Bracket shows a consistent flavour profile. Floral, geranium like character. Waxy lanolin and has grip.
Judge 4 All three wines have structural similarity, with apple and preserved lemon fruit, lime, chervil and markedly high acidity. Actual vintages unknown, but ageing looks inconsistent, with W2 showing more lemon curd development than others. Moderate persistance, interesting phenolic grip on W1
Associate Judge Looks like only white trio where younger wine is darker in colour and gets lighter with age. Younger wine is introverted on nose. Hay barrel characters, but lacking in fruit and drive, a little short. Moderately aged wine see honey and bee pollen on nose, palate feel a little dilute and watery. Lacking acid line. Oldest wine, the most subtle of them all. But with freshness and vibrance. Look to be in reverse order.
