lighter red, lifted berry coulis, cocoa, dusty tannins, slight pucker.b.fig, died fruits, touch short, ..and slightly drying phenolics.c.secondary, drying, little tough, savoury. |
There is a lack of consistency in the ripeness of tannin and fruit here. A generously fruited variety, with phenolic ripeness a question. Drying tannin. Style integrity. |
Tannin profile on all three wines very consistent. Stylistically has a thread. Terra cotta and brick dust. Wines 2 & 3 showing development but still have life and structural integrity and a succulent core of fruit. Older wines growing in the glass and looking more youthful over time. |
W1 rich and meaty, with firm powdery tannin, milk chocolate, poached red plum. W2 firmer with more astringency and dark baked fruit but still enough freshness. W3 tertiary with wax and leather, baked earth dried fruit but again still a core of fruit to balance. All firm and structured wines. |
Youngest wine is showing some ripe raisined fruit character on the nose. Port like in character on palate. Moderately aged wines shows similar character of warm fruit feels warm and syrupy on plate with high alcs. Oldest wine feels as thought it is just tannin remaining. |
