Judging Results
Medal / Award Bronze
Overall Score 88
Judge 1 golden colour, waxy nose, some malt, oatmeal, creamy, round, cracked yeast, solidsy
Judge 2 zest, slight rubber, flint and light toast. solid reduction. Lovely tension on the palate, mid weight, textural phenolics, salted lemon grip with a slightly harsh frame. Finish lingers. lots here to love, perhaps just not enough compexity for gold.
Judge 3 Some DCO2 on a golden straw appearance. Some TDN light kero top note but not overpowering, however obviously from quite sun exposed fruit. Assuming a northern rhone blend again, actually a nice amount of good marsanne flavour in it. Nice acidity and flow. Good glass of wine. Quibble between high bronze and low silver, only because TDN in a year old wine is not hugely my thing. TDN Settles with some time in glass. Not a super long finish but a good wine.
Associate Judge Musky nose. Palate has an intriguing candy look. A very subtle cinnamon/nutmeg/nut character on the palate. Delicate wine but a bitter finish
