golden/brown colour, hay like, dried apricots, orange rind, fresh clean back palate, acid and sugar balanced
Deep, copper orange colour. Nuts, walnuts skins, mahogany, some varnish. Golden syrup, treacle note, along with cold black tea. Fruit cake, dried fruit, spice, cinnamon.
Yellow florals, little lift if slightly chlorine like. Sweet cake aroma. appealing. Fruit garden on the palate. Ripe apricot, peach and apple. Soft but pleasing acidity.
Burnt toffee. The palate is encapsulated in sugar, I think some more phenolic or acid would have balanced it better

Vin Pretto 2014 is a true expression of craftsmanship and tradition, made from hand-harvested Trebbiano grapes grown in Victoria’s King Valley. Crafted using the ancient Passito method, the grapes are dried on racks for months before being pressed and fermented in small oak barriques, or "Caratelli." This natural fermentation process, which can take up to four years, creates a wine of remarkable depth and complexity, with each barrel developing its own unique "mother yeast." The result is a luxurious wine with a radiant golden hue and a rich, storied character.
On the nose, Vin Pretto offers an enticing blend of hazelnut, caramel, honey, and dried tropical fruits like mango and apricot, with a hint of delicate perfume. The palate is lush and velvety, with sweetness perfectly balanced by a fine thread of acidity that lingers gracefully. Perfectly paired with cantucci, blue cheese, dark chocolate, or desserts like pecan pie and tiramisu, this wine is a versatile companion to both sweet and savory indulgences. Drink now or cellar until 2050 to savor its evolving elegance.
